Best Time to Visit Las Vegas: A Month-by-Month Guide

June 9, 20265 min readElevated Rentals

Las Vegas is one of the few cities in America where every single month offers a genuinely compelling reason to visit — but that doesn't mean every month is equal. Weather swings from perfect to punishing, hotel rates fluctuate wildly, and the city's event calendar can turn a quiet weekend into an impossible-to-book extravaganza. Whether you're planning a big group getaway, a family vacation, or a long-overdue friends' trip, we've put together this honest, month-by-month guide to help you choose the right window — and make the most of your time here.

Spring (March–May): The Sweet Spot

Spring is, in our opinion, the best all-around time to visit Las Vegas. Daytime temperatures hover between the mid-60s and the low 80s, the desert blooms, and the city hasn't yet reached its summer frenzy. March brings March Madness watch parties to every sports book on the Strip, which is electric if you love college basketball. April and May are perhaps the most balanced months of the year — warm enough to enjoy a private pool, cool enough to walk the Strip comfortably after dark.

Spring is also ideal for groups. If you're renting a home for a bachelorette party, a milestone birthday, or a corporate retreat, you'll find that the outdoor spaces — pools, patios, putting greens — are genuinely usable rather than something you glance at through a glass door. Our rock-grotto pool villa with a swim-up bar gets booked up fast in April and May for exactly this reason. Five bedrooms, sleeps 12, and a heated spa that feels tailor-made for a warm desert evening.

Summer (June–August): Hot, Buzzing, and Built for Indoors

Let's be honest: Las Vegas summers are brutal. Daytime highs routinely hit 108°F or higher in July, and even evenings stay in the 90s. That said, summer has its own appeal. Room rates — and vacation rental rates — tend to dip mid-week as leisure travelers shy away from the heat. The city's indoor entertainment is truly world-class, and if your group is happy to sleep in, spend the afternoon in an air-conditioned game room or theater, and venture out after sunset, summer can be surprisingly affordable and fun.

For families with school-age kids, summer is often the only option. If that's your situation, lean into a home with serious indoor amenities and a heated pool for early-morning swims before the heat peaks. Our spacious family retreat near Red Rock is purpose-built for exactly this: a lap pool, a playground, putt-putt, and an arcade, all tucked into a two-story home that sleeps 15. Red Rock Canyon itself is worth an early-morning visit before temperatures climb.

Fall (September–November): Our Favorite Season

If we had to pick one season to recommend without hesitation, it would be fall. September still carries some summer warmth — perfect for pool days — but by October the weather has mellowed into the 70s and 80s. November brings crisp, cool evenings that make the Strip feel almost cinematic. Fall also loads up the events calendar: Formula 1 returned to Las Vegas in 2023 and has transformed November into one of the city's biggest weekends of the year. Halloween on Fremont Street is legendary. And the National Finals Rodeo in early December (which technically spills into late fall) takes over the city in the most unexpectedly fun way.

October in Las Vegas might be the closest thing to perfect weather this desert city ever sees — warm afternoons, cool nights, and a calendar full of reasons to celebrate.

Fall is also when larger groups tend to converge on the city for milestone events. If you're bringing 14 or 16 people for a celebration weekend, fall is the time to do it. Our seven-bedroom villa with a private theater and karaoke room sleeps 16 and is built for exactly that kind of trip — everyone under one roof, with enough space that nobody ever feels crowded.

Winter (December–February): Underrated and Surprisingly Affordable

Winter is Las Vegas's most underrated season. December is split between the frenetic energy of the National Finals Rodeo and New Year's Eve — one of the most spectacular celebrations in the world — and quieter mid-month stretches where prices drop and the city breathes. January and February are genuinely peaceful by Las Vegas standards. Temperatures sit in the 50s and low 60s most days, which is too cool for pool use but perfectly comfortable for exploring the Strip, visiting world-class restaurants, or day-tripping to Zion or the Grand Canyon.

Winter visitors who prioritize nightlife, dining, and entertainment over outdoor time often find these months deliver the best value of the year. If your group is more interested in a theater room, a karaoke setup, and a game room than a poolside afternoon, winter rates can be a genuine gift. The mid-century modern home with a neon game room and indoor and outdoor bars is a perennial winter favorite — four bedrooms, sleeps 10, and everything you need for a long weekend that never has to leave the property.

Quick Tips for Timing Your Visit

No matter when you decide to visit, the right home base makes all the difference. A private villa gives your group the space, the amenities, and the freedom that a hotel simply can't match — whether that's a heated pool in October, a game room in January, or a chef's kitchen for a slow Sunday morning.
